It was 1993 and banks refused to grant a loan to the twin brothers Rainer and Harald Opolka because they did not have any estate to offer as collateral. What banks actually dismissed was their prototype invention (Ledlenser V8 flashlight) telling them it wasn’t good enough and it was never going to sell. What a huge mistake they made.
One year later, with a couple of sketchbooks and an old computer, they opened the LED Lenser company in their garage. These were the first moments of creating an empire that brought innovation and quality in the industry by creating Led Lenser torches. After a couple of years, the story continues, and they sold more than 200 million dollars worth of LED flashlights by 1999 and became a recognised brand all over the world.
Today, they are owners of dozens of patents and designers awards, they’ve grown into a company of more than 1000 employees and they sell their products all over the world. And now, driven by the passion of creating the perfect torchlight they’ve constructed one of the best Led Lenser torches – P7R.
The Led Lenser P7R is a useful LED torch that has a power of 1000 lumens which can illuminate objects up to 210 meters which is quite astonishing. This bright rechargeable LED Lenser torch weights around 210 grammes, is easily charged by a magnetic USB which is easy to use and there is no need to insert any cables or change the batteries. The wireless charging is quite a useful feature which offers practicality and flexibility to any user.
The battery lasts around two hours on high-power mode, but if set to a low mode it can go up to 40 hours! It is programmed with three power setting low, medium and high. They can be easily operated by switching the on and off button, one time for low, two times for medium and three times for high. To fully charge this torch light you will need around 5 hours of constant charging. The previous model used AAA batteries, however, with the advancement of manufacturing of batteries, the P7R uses Li-Ion 18650 batteries which are standard for any rechargeable torch and they are very easy to replace once their potential is spent.
The P7R is rated IPX4 which means they are water resistant and can stay in water for around 5 minutes without getting damaged. They are built from a quality grade aluminium, and they look and feel firm. Focusing the beam is done by pulling and rotating the lamp with easy adjustments on the lens to create wider or thinner beam. It is sold together with a belt-holder, wall-mounting bracket and robust which are also made from quality materials offering durability and functionality in any given situation.
