Warm and comfy, this is one of the first things that comes to my mind when talking about my home. And believe me, getting it to the desired point cost me a lot, especially time and energy as my budget is always quite limited (chuckles). But one of the main things that helped me bring out its beauty were stripped LED lights.
Affordable yet stylish, strip LED lights can be a brilliant addition to any contemporary home. Whether used to highlight a feature, change the mood or show off a display, they are the most cost-effective way of turning your home from drab to fab. As an addition, all types of LED lights (this includes the strip ones) are energy efficient, eco-friendly and durable. The LED strip lights are available in different sizes and are extremely flexible and have a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications – in your bathroom, in your home, in your office, in the garden, etc.
Striping Away the Kitchen’s Monotony
The first place I wanted to install LED strip lights in was the kitchen as it was in desperate need for a change. Back then I was in love with everything white and this was the colour that dominated my kitchen. So, instead of spending a fortune on changing the cabinets I decided to give them a little glow and warm touch by implementing LED strips. I placed them beneath the worktop seating area for creating a more warm and homey atmosphere, while giving it a touch of sophistication. Since the upper kitchen cabinets have a glass part, I decided to illuminate them by placing LED strip lights inside the cupboard. These things made quite of a difference in my kitchen as instead of white now you can see a warm yellow colour coming off the cabinets and the worktop.
Adding More Coziness to the Living Room
The living room was another space in my home where I used LED strips as I wanted to highlight the area around the several wall art pieces I have. Except for placing some new candle holders on my coffee table, I decided to also highlight the beauty of the framed wall art pieces by placing thin LED strips around each one of them (I have three). The warm effect of the light has changed the look of the room a lot, making it more modern and comfy.
Lighting the Stairs
The last place where I used LED strip lighting was under each riser of the stairs inside my house. This was really the best decision I’ve made as it gave the area an almost magical touch and helped me create an atmospheric entry without splurging a lot.
