Asian Furniture – Your Fastest Express to the Mystic Orient

Raw natural beauty and mystery is what my soul has always been seduced by. I’ve had the precious opportunity to visit many exotic places and learn plenty about the culture, the traditions, and the general way of living of the local people, but only one corner of our world has truly spoken to me – Asia. Ah, yes, the birthplace of spirituality, the source of timeless wisdom, the land of humble folks! I was enchanted by everything it had to offer and consumed by it all in a blink of an eye. Those three months I spent in the almost otherworldly Orient opened my eyes to a whole new reality, one that has stayed with me ever since.

Inspired by my long (but not long enough) stay in China and Japan, I decided to implement certain elements of the traditional Asian home décor into my apartment. My search for the pieces of Asian furniture I was determined to find and buy turned out to be a really enjoyable activity, as our country’s market is full of both online and physical furniture stores that import and sell stunning Asian furniture. From tastefully designed Asian fabric sofas & couches, to beautiful wooden coffee and dining tables, to hand carved cabinets and sideboards with subtle floral motifs, to richly decorated oriental rugs, it seems to me that this impressive selection of furniture items has the potential to satisfy even the pickiest of interior designers and lovers of everything Asian among us.

So, let me share with you the story of bringing back to life my living room (to be completely honest, it never really felt warm and welcoming to me). I promise I won’t bore you with every small and irrelevant detail. Well, here I go. After starting my vegan journey and realizing how much I detested my black leather sofa set, I sold it to a friend of mine and replaced it with a stylish burgundy Asian fabric sofa and complemented its look with the help of four cream cotton pillows. I also changed my living room’s old-fashioned floor covering with a classic oriental rug. Oh, I shouldn’t forget to mention that I also purchased two delightful watercolor paintings of the Japanese countryside, as I wanted to be reminded of my trip to Japan on a daily basis.

I finished the look of my lounge room by carefully placing several adorable Buddha sculptures and Bonsai trees around the place. At the end of this creative process, I could sit comfortably on my new sofa bed and feel like this is exactly where I belong. I was home at last!
