Ever since I told you my story about how I became a ballerina, somehow I became more interested in encouraging my little cousin to become one. She already had an itch for it, and it was like I saw myself in her. Every time she talked to me about ballet, my heart would start to pump like crazy. It was like being seven all over again.
Growing up, I used to have the dream of becoming a ballerina. There was a time I’d invent a dance of my own or start imitating the prima ballerinas I’d see on TV. My parents enjoyed my shows, I loved the attention I was getting, so logically I kept insisting on ballet lessons.
I still remember the first day at the ballet studio vividly, my mum taking me there, carrying my cute equipment. Instead of being afraid of the challenge like most girls there, I was all excited and couldn’t wait to start practicing.
