Winter can be fun (at least for people like me who love winter) but I must admit that I hate it only for one thing – it is really bad for my skin. I have normal skin but in wintertime, it becomes a real struggle to find the perfect face cosmetic to make it look its best. The harsh winds, dry air, and cold temperatures make my skin dry and even cracked around the cheek area. Pretty annoying, I know.
The change of season is always stressful for my skin, so last year I decided to make some changes in my night and daily skin care routine that luckily worked great for me. Along with some new techniques and routines, I included 100% organic body care products that brought my skin back to life again. If you are struggling with a similar problem and want to make your skin soft and smooth again, have a look at my handy and easy tips and tricks that work perfectly for me.
Stock Up on Organic Body Lotions
Organic body lotions are the best way to moisturise your skin and keep it hydrated. Avoid using creams as they have a heavier formula that can clog your pores. When it comes to natural body lotions I use one that includes plant oils of apricot, almond, macadamia, avocado and lavender. They restore the balance of my skin, leaving it smooth and soft without the need of any additional care.
Don’t Overlook the Importance of Scrubs
Even the most pricey and quality skin care products will be useless if you don’t exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. According to dermatologists, exfoliation (at least two times per week) is the key to having a soft and smooth skin during winter months. This is so because when using scrubs for exfoliating, you are not only getting rid of the dead cells, dirt and some cosmetic residues, you will be able to improve your skin’s complexion and texture as well. I have literally felt it on my skin, and let me tell you one thing – it did wonders! I use an organic body care scrub which is a combination of pink Himalayan salt, lemongrass, coconut and macadamia oil, that makes my skin smooth as a baby’s bottom. I use an exfoliant glove along with my Himalayan salt scrub as it gives me better results. The one I have is a little miracle as it works effectively on unclogging my pores, as well as on removing any dead cells and the annoying blackheads. Just don’t forget about your feet – they also need an exfoliation and regular pedicure to avert cracked and unhealthy skin.
Stay Hydrated
Staying hydrated is one of the key elements to having a healthy and glowing skin. You may not feel a really big need for water during the cold winter months, but this doesn’t mean that you don’t need to keep yourself hydrated. Drinking the recommended amount of water daily (2 litres at least) will help remove the toxins from your body, it will promote rejuvenation and increase skin elasticity.
Tanning With Organic Lotion
Let’s face it, we, women, are crazy about having a sun-kissed hair and sun-tanned skin, but during winter it can be quite difficult to achieve that. Luckily for me, I’ve managed to have both – a hydrated skin and a honey glow with the help of my organic tanning moisturiser. It contains roses which keep my skin hydrated, and just after a few daily applications, my skin gets a nice honey glow that is perfect for winter months.
